The WorldSkills Barbados (WSB) Champions Committee’s inaugural Independence Day social media competition, 'Bajan Do Down!' is on!

The competition runs from November 15th to 30th, 2022. It aims to highlight our rich history, especially at this time of the year. Centred around Bajan sayings, contestants need to interpret at least one of the following sayings in their video:

1. “If ya aint got horse ride cow.”
2. “One hand can’t clap.”
3. “Home drums does beat first.”
4. “If greedy wait hot will cool.” 
5. “Who help ya buy big guts horse don’t help ya feed it.” 

To be eligible to win, participants must also follow and tag WSB on Instagram and Tik Tok.

As part of sponsorship, WorldSkills Barbados Champions Committee (WSBCC) members, Keanndra Marshall, Rukiya Clarke and Shaquani Hunte who are business owners, have donated $100 gift vouchers in support of the competition. Contestants can win prizes from Bee Inked, Elite the Store, InfinityB Salon and much more.
