WorldSkills Barbados (WSB) 2018 Champion and competitor at WorldSkills Kazan 2019, Shae White, currently sits on the WorldSkills Champions Trust (WSCT) committee as one of two Regional Representatives for the Americas.

All former finalists at the WorldSkills Barbados (WSB) and WorldSkills Barbados Juniors (WSBJ) competitions will be given the opportunity to apply to serve on the soon-to-be launched WorldSkills Barbados Champions Committee (WSBCC).

The Committee will serve as Barbados’ local arm of the WorldSkills Champions Trust, assisting in and serving as a voice for young people in the advocacy of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and the WorldSkills Barbados Programme.

The primary goal of the WSBCC is to engage WorldSkills Barbados Champions - individuals who have previously competed at the finals of either the WorldSkills Barbados or WorldSkills Barbados Juniors competitions, or who have attended the International TVET Youth Forum - and TVET students in a national professional network.

Along with advocating for young people, the nine (9) members chosen to sit on the committee will participate in leadership and media training sessions, forums and conferences to hone their skills to effectively represent the talented and dedicated community of WorldSkills Barbados Champions.

The deadline for submission of WSBCC applications is January 30, 2022.
